Radiant Alliance celebrates the launch of “Ohio’s Hospice at Genacross Lutheran Services,” a transformative collaboration between Genacross Lutheran Services and Ohio’s Hospice, two esteemed partners in our network. As featured in The Friend newsletter by Genacross, this new service marks an important milestone in providing compassionate end-of-life care at the Napoleon and Wolf Creek campuses. Services officially began in October 2024, continuing the mission to enhance quality of life for residents and their families.

Rick Marshall, President and CEO of Genacross Lutheran Services, expressed the significance of this partnership: “Ohio’s Hospice, which is one of our partners in Radiant Alliance, is working with Genacross leadership to develop this valuable service for our residents and families.” Together, they are fostering a cohesive care model by sharing skilled field staff, including nurses, aides, social workers and chaplains.

This collaboration builds upon the strong foundation established in 2019 when United Church Homes, another Radiant Alliance partner, partnered with Ohio’s Hospice to form “Ohio’s Hospice at United Church Homes.” This partnership brought hospice services to communities within United Church Homes’ extensive network, further advancing Radiant’s vision of collaborative innovation and compassionate care. Ohio’s Hospice, part of Metta Healthcare—a Radiant Alliance member—has more than 40 years of experience providing exceptional end-of-life care, support and comfort.

Hospice care focuses on patients in the final stages of incurable illnesses, ensuring comfort and dignity during their remaining days. Kristy Tocknell, Senior Vice President for Clinical Excellence at Ohio’s Hospice, shared, “Hospice aims to provide care for patients in whatever setting they call home, whether that is an extended care facility, a hospital, assisted living, or independent living setting, thus minimizing disruptive moves and transitions in care.”
